Southwest Virginia Psychiatry Opportunity
Due to a strong community need Twin County Regional Healthcare is seeking an additional psychiatrist to join their medical staff. The medical staff is in full support of the addition. The physician would be employed by the facility and would be offered a highly competitive financial package. A strong base salary, production incentives, sign on bonus, relocation expenses are just to name a few. The physician would have a traditional inpatient/outpatient practice. The position is located in Galax, Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Blue Ridge Mountains have been described as the most important musical breeding ground in America; and Galax has been dubbed the Blue Grass capitol of the world. You will find music here any day of the week in all seasons, whether its live radio shows, jam sessions, square dances, fiddlers? conventions or festivals. Not to mention, the Twin Counties is right in the heart of The Crooked Road, the home of traditional string music that dates back to the settlers and beyond.
Galax is 1.5 hours from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 1.5 hours from Roanoke, Virginia and just a little over 1.5 hours to Bristol, Tennessee. We are approximately 5 hours from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 8 hours from New York City and approximately 5 hours from Atlanta, Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity to have a busy practice in an area that the whole family will enjoy.

The 765-acre New River Trail State Park, which has been designated an official National Recreation Trail by the U. S. Department of the Interior. The park parallels 39 miles of the New River, which is one of the world’s oldest rivers and among a handful of rivers flowing north. Among other things, New River is known for its fishing and boating.
Matthews State Forest, a 566-acre state forest located just outside the City of Galax. Recreational activities available include hiking and biking trails, along with an educational center and the Matthews Living History Farm.
The 28-acre Felts Park, featuring five lit tennis courts, a half-mile paved walking path, a 25-meter outdoor pool, an outdoor playground and covered picnic area, two baseball/softball fields, and outdoor basketball and sand volleyball courts. Adult and youth sports programs are available too.
